Pregnancy and Dental Treatment

Dental treatment during pregnancy is discussed well in the following links
  • http://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/dental-work-and-pregnancy/
  • http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/dental-care-pregnancy#1

In summary the recommendations are:
  1. have a dental check-up before you are pregnant
  2. there are changes to your gums that occur during pregnancy and reflux and vomiting can impact your teeth - ask your dentist for strategies to reduce the impact of this on your teeth and gums
  3. If you are pregnant it is safe and recommended that you see your dentist
  4. You must let your dentist know you are pregnant
  5. If treatment is required the best time is during the second trimester

Book your appointment confidently during pregnancy and we can assess and discuss your specific needs - call us on 94871858
